PRINCETON CENTER for LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Developing leadership, building partnerships...from the inside out.

The Princeton Center’s latest effort to reshape our assumptions about education in New Jersey is one of the most valuable efforts anywhere in the nation to achieve real reform in public schooling.
- Bill Bradley, former U.S. Senator

As an independent, non-profit organization, the Princeton Center for Leadership Training (PCLT) has a 20-year record of establishing long-term partnerships with schools and communities. PCLT has delivered leadership training in hundreds of schools and communities with educators from every county in New Jersey, as well as in twelve other states and countries. We work in urban, suburban, and rural settings, in public and private schools, and organizations.

we work with schools and communities in two key ways

•  We custom-design training/programs that address the specific needs of our clients. We provide training that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and practical solutions to complex problems.

•  We offer participation in our statewide network of peer leadership and character education programs, which focus on age-appropriate issues such as cooperative and respectful behavior (elementary schools), substance abuse prevention (middle schools), and transition issues and sexual health (high schools). Our leadership programs for parents improve communication between parents and children.

PCLT's Founding Principles
Leadership is the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared objectives.
Collaboration among diverse groups with multiple agendas is essential to create a productive learning environment.
Collaborative models help people realize what they have in common and discover how they can use their diverse talents and strengths to lead institutional change.
The establishment of new practices and a system for sustaining them over time is critical to achievement of lasting change.
Today’s leaders have a responsibility to identify, develop, and prepare the leaders of tomorrow.
